Errors to Avoid
Because a trip, deep down, is meant to be good for you—not to drain you.
Traveling should be something light. We go to breathe a little, to reconnect, to escape the everyday routine…
But sometimes, without realizing it, we put obstacles in our way.
Here are some very common mistakes and how to avoid them so that your next trip is really enjoyable.
1. Wanting to plan everything too much
We often think that planning everything = avoiding stress.
In reality, it creates the opposite.
When your schedule is packed like clockwork, you leave no room for the unexpected or the true magic of travel.
What you can do:
Plan the essentials… and leave a few moments completely free. That's often when the most beautiful surprises happen.
2. Leaving too loaded (and complicating life)
We've all experienced that moment when we're carrying a bag that's too heavy and think: “Why did I bring all this?”
Tip:
Take less, but choose better.
Two pairs of shoes, a few clothes that go with everything, and a little space to bring back something you discover there.
Your back (and your mind) will thank you.
3. Trying to keep up with others
You don't have to do what “everyone else is doing.”
A trip doesn't need to be packed to be successful.
Sometimes, taking your time, stopping in a café, watching people pass by… that's the moment that stays with you.
Keep in mind:
A day with 2–3 activities is more than enough.
4. Forgetting that traveling also affects emotions
Changing environments stirs everything up a bit.
It can awaken joy, but also fatigue, stress, or deeper things.
Before leaving, ask yourself:
“What do I want right now? What do I want to experience or feel during this trip?”
This simple intention changes a lot.
5. Expecting perfection
The weather, schedules, photos… nothing is ever exactly as we imagine.
And that's okay.
Sometimes, it's even better that way.
Detours, unexpected encounters, the small problems that turn into anecdotes… these are often the truest moments.
In summary
Traveling isn’t checking off a list.
It’s reconnecting with yourself, breathing a little, experiencing something that brings you closer to yourself.
By avoiding these little mistakes, you give yourself a smoother, simpler… and more authentic journey.
